Beaver Scouts running around

Welcome to the 42nd Pentland Scout Group, an exceptional youth organization located in Currie.

We provide activities and opportunities for young people, aged 6-25, to develop skills, confidence, and a sense of adventure through Through a variety of engaging activities, we inspire our members to develop confidence, a sense of adventure and life-long skills through practical, hands-on experiences, both indoors and outdoors. Composed of different age-based sections, a Scout Group is led by volunteer adults who coordinate the program, while a separate trustee board manages the group as a charity to ensure its well-being and legal compliance.

Join us as we create lasting memories and friendships while making a positive impact in our community!

Our Leaders

Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running meetings and, adventures! The leadership can be made up of a mixture of both young and adult volunteers. All adult leaders have training including safeguarding, must complete a disclosure check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified. If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders!

Our Trustees

The Scout Trustees is made up of a mixture of leaders and parents who meet 3 to 4 times a year to support the running and administration of the Scout Group. The trustees aim to make sure that the Scout group has the facilities and resources needed to deliver good Scouting. They oversee the allocation of group funds, maintain all group equipment and organise fundraising events.

An AGM is held every year to which all parents are invited to attend during which the officers are elected and the financial audit presented.

The trustees would welcome any parent wishing to join at any time. In particular we are looking for 1 to 2 parents to represent each section.
